They are native to The Contiguous United States, Western North America, and The Americas. They have simple, broad leaves, blue flowers, and capsule fruit. Flowers are visited by Black Tail Bumble Bee, Bird Hover Fly, Honey bee, and Vosnesensky Bumble Bee. Individuals can grow to 4.9 m.
