Lycopus americanus (American Water Horehound) is a species of perennial herb in the family Lamiaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Canada, The Contiguous United States, and Australia. They have simple, broad leaves and white flowers. Flowers are visited by Yellowjacket Hover Fly, Lindenius columbianus, Brown-belted Bumblebee, and Distichona auriceps. Individuals can grow to 0.55 m.
