Salvia coccinea (Red Sage) is a species of shrub in the family Lamiaceae. It has a self-supporting growth form. It is native to the contiguous United States, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. Salvia coccinea has simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Papilio polyxenes Fabricius 1775. Salvia coccinea is a photoautotroph.
