Penstemon barbatus (Beardlip Penstemon) is a species of perennial herb in the family Plantaginaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to The Contiguous United States and North America. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Broad-billed Hummingbird, Rufous Hummingbird, and Broad-tailed Hummingbird. Individuals can grow to 0.42 m.
