Description

Woody climber, ascending to many metres high in trees. Leaves: petiole up to 17 cm; lamina large, up to 16 × 14 cm, broadly ovate; apex mucronate; base truncate or cordate, grey beneath. Peduncle short, up to 1 cm long. Sepals elliptic to subcircular. Corolla 4-4.5 cm long, bright crimson with base of tube orange-yellow. Capsule spherical, up to 2 cm in diameter.
