Alvaradoa jamaicensis Benth. PI. Hartw. 344. 1857 A shrub or small tree with finely pubescent twigs. Leaves 1-2.5 dm. long, stiff, the rachis stout, the leaflets 19-45, the blades leathery, oval or suborbicular at the base of the rachis, oblong or nearly so on the upper part, the larger ones 2-4 cm. long, all notched at the apex, glabrous, deep-green and somewhat shining above, yellowish-green and dull beneath ; calyxlobes not seen ; samaras broadly ovate to orbicular-ovate, 10-12 mm. long, acute, rather longpedicelled.
Type locality : I'nipn Hill, Jamaica. Distribution : Jamaica.
