They are native to Acre (Brazil), Tocantins, Amazônia, Piauí, Caatinga, Maranhao, Amapá, Mato Grosso, Ceará, The Neotropics, Pará, and RondôNia. They have compound, broad leaves and capsule fruit. Individuals can grow to 13 m.
