Cheilosia albitarsis tolerates moderate agricultural utilization and enters forests along buttercup-lined field tracks [DREES 1997]. Hauptsächlich auf Wiesen, Waldlichtungen und an Feldwegen anzutreffen. Die Art erträgt eine mäßige landwirtschaftliche Nutzung und dringt entlang der von Hahnenfuß (Ranunculus repens) gesäumten Wege auch in geschlossene Wälder ein [DREES 1997]. Die Larven der (aller?)
