Didymosphenia geminata (Didymo) is a species of diatoms in the family Gomphonemataceae. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Finland, Ireland, United Kingdom, Sweden, Faroe Islands, France, Spain, Columbia River, Canada, Norway, and Switzerland. Dead Didymo form siliceous oozes.
