Typha domingensis (Southern Cat Tail) is a species of perennial herb in the family Typhaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Eastern North America, Ceará, Caatinga, Rio Grande Do Sul, Piauí, SãO Paulo, Minas Gerais, ParaíBa, North America, Alagoas, GoiáS, Santa Catarina, Paraná, Maranhao, Mata Atlântica, Amazônia, Western North America, Rio Grande Do Norte, U.S. Virgin Islands, Pantanal, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Cerrado, Sergipe, Mato Grosso, Tocantins, Pampa, The Contiguous United States, Pará, Rio De Janeiro, Bahia, Pernambuco, Puerto Rico, Distrito Federal, and Espirito Santo. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 1.4 m.
