Xiphochaeta is a genus of South American plants in the Vernonieae tribe^[2] within the daisy family.^[3]^[4]^[5]^[6]

The only known species is Xiphochaeta aquatica, native to Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana.^[1]^[7]
