Bougainvillea spectabilis (Great Bougainvillea) is a species of tree in the family Nyctaginaceae. They are climbers. They are native to Bahia, Ceará, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande Do Sul, AmazôNia, Distrito Federal, Espirito Santo, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Rio De Janeiro, Minas Gerais, Pará, Mata AtlâNtica, and SãO Paulo. They have simple, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Cloudless Sulphur, Great mormon, Large Orange Sulphur, and Allen's Hummingbird. Individuals can grow to 3 m.
