Varanus tristis (Arid Monitor) is a species of Squamata in the family monitor lizards. They are listed in cites appendix ii. They are found in australasia. They are carnivores. Definition: Appendix II lists species that are not necessarily now threatened with extinction but that may become so unless trade is closely controlled.
