Istiophorus platypterus (Indo Pacific Sailfish) is a species of ray-finned fishes in the family billfishes. They are native to Pacific Ocean, Asia, The Neotropics, the Palearctic, Ethiopia, Atlantic Ocean, Oceania continent (Australia, NZ and islands), Mediterranean Sea, The Nearctic, and Indian Ocean. They are solitary, nocturnal carnivores. Individuals can grow to 348 cm. They have sexual reproduction. They rely on swimming to move around.
