Raja clavata (Thornback Skate) is a species of Rajiformes in the family skates. This species is extinct. They are listed as near threatened by IUCN. They are native to Mediterranean Sea, the Palearctic, and Ethiopia. They are carnivores. Individuals could grow to 139 cm. Reproduction was oviparous and iteroparous. They rely on swimming and pectoral fin swimming to move around.
