Modiolus modiolus (Northern Horse Mussel) is a species of mussels in the family Mytilidae. Adult Northern Horse Mussel form marine reefs. They are surficial modifiers. Individuals can grow to 360 mm. They have sexual reproduction. They are facultatively mobile animals.
