Arcoidea is a superfamily of mussels. There are 520 species of Arcoidea, in 55 genera and 5 families. This superfamily has been around since the ordovician period. It includes groups like Cucullaeidae, Noetiidae, and Ark Shells. Dead Arcoidea form shallow marine sediments. They have sexual reproduction. They are facultatively mobile animals.
