MATERIAL EXAMINED: NZOI Stns A449, A456; Eltanin Stns 1995, 2005; USNM 612974, 75°31'S, 26°43'W, Weddell Sea, 229 m; USNM 613009, 72°05.8'S, 172°15.2'E, 392 m; VIMS Wilkes Stn AZ.

DISTRIBUTION: Previously known from the antarctic continent from 49°E to 89°E (193-300 m), P. frigida can now be recorded from 110°E, the Weddell Sea (229 m) and from the Ross Sea (238-870 m).

REMARKS: The protoconch (Fig. 426) is paucispiral and sculptured in the same pattern as described above for P. rossi. The specimen from the Weddell Sea compares with material from the Ross Sea.”
