Lined Snake

Small snake. Flattens body when threatened. Found living under plywood in a residential area of North Austin, texas.

30.02214, -100.20401. DOR, pretty much road bacon. Poor picture, but you can identify the specimen by the pattern on its belly scales.

Found while doing yard work.

Saw several of these young snakes with bright yellow bellies -- yellow bellied racers? Any guidance on an ID would be appreciated. :) Oh and they did musk me up pretty bad as I picked them up. :-/ Fine. I won't eat you, snake! ;)

Found under cover. Low wind full sun. Air temp ~ 60.

I had our backdoor open and this snake came into our kitchen.

Found this little guy in the floodwater in front of my house. It will be released when conditions improve.
