Description: Here is a female that is trying to balance on the Millet Cob in the light wind while grabbing mouthfuls to eat. Further, the weight of the bird would bend the stalk quite a bit to the point of breakage. The birds - some of them get their wings up and ready to fly. Others are more confident of their choice, like this one. Many thanks in advance for your views/ feedback. Much appreciated. Date: 23 August 2020, 06:51. Source: A Female Plum Headed Parakeet. Description: An uncommon Parakeet sighted often in thick canopy and easily confused for its more common cousin, The Parrot is a delight to watch. In addition to its colorful head, it has a bright red spot on the wing which I mistook for blood and thought it was injured. But it is a feature of the bird. And in the forest, it wasn't easy to get any close to the bird and had to do with the view we got. Many thanks for your view / feedback / comments. Much appreciated. Date: 8 March 2020, 16:12. Description: After waiting for an hour for a good shot of the bird taking off, it finally flies off the other side! Oh, that's so frustrating, but well there is always another time. The birds are quite energetic and always wary of humans - usually the farmers in the countryside. The farmers see these birds as pests since they damage the crop often. And the whole countryside is littered with crops these days. So where would the birds eat! There are very few natural fruit trees in the countryside I frequent - what can the birds do?
