Astropecten irregularis (Sand Star) is a species of echinoderms in the family Astropectinidae. They are surficial modifiers. They are carnivores. Individuals can grow to 200 mm. They have sexual reproduction. Reproduction is oviparous. They are slow moving burrowers.
