Heterocyathus aequicostatus is a species of cnidarians in the family caryophylliid corals. They are listed in cites appendix ii. Dead Heterocyathus aequicostatus form shallow marine sediments. They are solitary. They have asexual reproduction, alternation of generations, and sexual reproduction; they are broadcast spawners. They are facultatively mobile animals.
