Senna occidentalis (Septicweed) is a species of shrub in the family legumes. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Mato Grosso, Santa Catarina, Amapá, RondôNia, Mato Grosso Do Sul, Rio Grande Do Norte, Bahia, Tocantins, Acre (Brazil), Caatinga, Pará, Sergipe, ParaíBa, Rio Grande Do Sul, Distrito Federal, Minas Gerais, Cerrado, Alagoas, Ceará, Piauí, AmazôNia, Pernambuco, GoiáS, SãO Paulo, Rio De Janeiro, Roraima, Mata Atlântica, Paraná, Maranhao, Pantanal, and Espirito Santo. They have compound, broad leaves. Flowers are visited by Lipotriches whitfieldi, Euglossa cordata, and Carpenter Bees. Individuals can grow to 2 m.
