Saguinus midas (Linnaeus 1758)

Saguinus midas is a species of primates in the family Callitrichidae. They are listed in cites appendix ii. They are native to The Neotropics. They are diurnal herbivores. Individuals are known to live for 184.8 months and can grow to 815 mm. Reproduction is viviparous. They have parental care (paternal care, female provides care, and cooperative breeding). They rely on saltation to move around.

Definition: Appendix II lists species that are not necessarily now threatened with extinction but that may become so unless trade is closely controlled. Permits or certificates should only be granted if the relevant authorities are satisfied that certain conditions are met, above all that trade will not be detrimental to the survival of the species in the wild.
