Hyaena hyaena (Striped Hyena) is a species of mammals in the family hyaenas. They are listed as near threatened by IUCN and in cites appendix iii. They are native to Asia, Ethiopia, and the Palearctic. They are solitary carnivores. Individuals are known to live for 288 months and can grow to 1104.7 mm. They rely on running to move around.
