Lontra felina (Marine Otter) is a species of mammals in the family Mustelidae. They are listed as endangered by IUCN and in cites appendix i. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to The Neotropics and Pacific Ocean. They are solitary, diurnal carnivores. Individuals can grow to 676.55 mm. They rely on swimming and running to move around.

  • Definition: Appendix I lists species that are the most endangered among CITES-listed animals and plants. They are threatened with extinction and CITES prohibits international trade in specimens of these species except when the purpose of the import is not commercial, for instance for scientific research.
