Test free, flattened and irregular in form, with or without ridge-like crests and of very firm consistency. Xenophyae all of same type and cemented only at random points of contact; test space consists of numerous small interstices between grains. Occurrence: One locality off southeast Africa, 5110m depth. Only known species Maudammina arenaria Tendal, 1972: Test yellowish-brown in colour, very firmly constructed, 45mm long and 4-8mm thick. Flattened and more or less irregularly bent with a few plate-like ridges on one side. Xenophyae sand grains.
