Panoquina errans is a year-round resident from Florida along the Gulf coast to southern Texas and in southern California, and ranges south to Peru and Brazil and throughout the Bahamas and Antilles (Scott 1986). Habitats are coastal salt marsh and beach grass. Host plants are grasses. Eggs are laid on the host plant. Individuals overwinter as larvae in California. There are multiple flights each year with the approximate flight time Feb.1-Dec.30 in Florida, June1-Nov.30 in Texas and late June-Sept. 30 in California (Scott 1986).
