Rhizocephala (Rhizocephalans) is a superorder of barnacles. There are 288 species of Rhizocephalans, in 42 genera and 13 families. This superorder has been around since the priabonian age. It includes groups like Mycetomorphidae, Clistosaccidae, and Duplorbidae. They are sessile animals.
