Sparganium emersum (European Bur Reed) is a species of perennial herb in the family Typhaceae. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Alaska, Saint-Pierre Et Miquelon, The Contiguous United States, and Canada. They have simple, broad leaves. Individuals can grow to 0.42 m.
