Silver Labeo

Potamodromous. Migrating within streams, migratory in rivers, e.g. Saliminus, Moxostoma, Labeo. Migrations should be cyclical and predictable and cover more than 100 km.

Habitat preference is warm middle and low veldt streams and larger pools over muddy bottoms (Ref. 1440). Feeds on organic sediments. Moves up rain-swollen rivers to breed (Ref. 7248).
