Lagorchestes hirsutus (Mala) is a species of mammals in the family Macropodidae. They are listed as vulnerable by IUCN and in cites appendix i. They are native to Australia. They are solitary, nocturnal herbivores. Individuals are known to live for 96 months. Reproduction is viviparous. They have parental care (female provides care). They rely on saltation to move around.
