Hedera helix (English Ivy) is a species of shrub in the family Araliaceae. They are climbers. They are native to Portugal, Cyprus, Morocco, Greece, Romania, Belarus, Turkey, France, Denmark, Israel, Tunisia, Latvia, The Netherlands, Algeria, Sweden, Armenia, Yugoslavia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Lithuania, Norway, Moldova, Poland, Spain, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Hungary, United Kingdom, Libya, Slovakia, Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria, Italy, Lebanon, Albania, and Syria. They have simple, broad leaves and drupes. Flowers are visited by Apiloscatopse picea, Neoascia podagrica, Golden hoverfly, and Helophilus hybridus. Individuals can grow to 6.3 m.
