Carex (Sedges) is a genus of grass in the family sedges. They are associated with freshwater habitat. They are native to Pacific Basin excluding Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Alaska, The Contiguous United States, Western North America, Eastern North America, Saint-Pierre Et Miquelon, Hawaii, North America, Greenland, and Canada. Flowers are visited by Phyciodes mylitta. Individuals can grow to 0.28 m.
