Cenchrus ciliaris (Buffel Grass) is a species of perennial herb in the family true grasses. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to Iran, Swaziland, Libya, Spain, Egypt, Italy, Namibia, Saudi Arabia, Zambia, Pakistan, Mali, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Iraq, Indonesia, North America, India, Zimbabwe, Syria, Afghanistan, Botswana, Uganda, Senegal, Ethiopia, Sudan, Mozambique, Angola, Israel, and Jordan. They have simple, broad leaves and yellow flowers. Flowers are visited by Petrorossia guanchorum and Phaneroptera sparsa. Individuals can grow to 3 feet.
