Aeranthes parkesii G. Will.

parkesii: named after Mr Duncan Parkes, who collected the type and flowered it in cultivation.

Epiphytic herb. Stem short, covered in old leaf bases. Leaves up to 6, lanceolate, up to 17 cm long. Inflorescences arising from the base of the stem, up to 20 cm long, simple or rarely branched with single flowers per inflorescence branch. Flowers greenish-cream, translucent, darker at the apices of tepals and spur. Lip almost square with an apical point and a very wavy margin. Spur conical, pendent, c. 10 mm long.

Known only from one locality in tropical forest in the Honde Valley on the slopes of Mt. Nyangani.
