Tsuga mertensiana (Mountain Hemlock) is a species of tree in the family pines. They have a self-supporting growth form. They are native to United States, Western North America, Canada, northern hemisphere, The Contiguous United States, and Alaska. They have simple, spine-shaped leaves, yellow flowers, and cones. Individuals can grow to 125 feet.
