Balanophyllia europaea (Scarlet Coral) is a species of cnidarians in the family dendrophylliid corals . They are listed in cites appendix ii. Dead Scarlet Coral form shallow marine sediments. They are solitary. They have asexual reproduction and sexual reproduction. They have parental care (brooding and symbiont inheritance).

Definition: Appendix II lists species that are not necessarily now threatened with extinction but that may become so unless trade is closely controlled.
