Slo.: planinska spominica - syn.: Myosotis sylvatica (Ehrh) Hoffm. ssp. alpestris (Schmidt) Gams - Habitat: pasture, dry grassland, slightly inclined mountain slope near the bottom of a valley, shallow, colluvial, skeletal, calcareous ground, elevation 620 m (2.030 feet); average precipitations ~ 3.000 mm/year, average temperature 7-9 deg C, alpine phytogeographical region. Comment: Forget-me-not (genus Myosotis) is certainly one of the most beautiful, well known and admired wild plants. All of them have small flowers, but some, like Myosotis alpestris, bloom in so radiantly azure blue colour that it is in did hard to forget them. They are morphologically very variable and hence pose a hard problem for taxonomists. The answer how many species exists and what are their main distinguishing traits depends much on whom you will ask. Following internationally recognized key in Ref.: 3 this pictures shows Myosotis alpestris, which is an alpine plant growing in subalpine and alpine elevations.
