Looking north from Virginia City road towards Reno. Hill in center composed of porphyritic rock. Light colored trees and trees near road in saddle are Pinus jeffreyi, confined to porhyry outcrop. Dark colored trees on lower slopes are Pinuscembroides (=Pinus cembroides monophylla). Sage is mostly Artemisia tridentata., T 18 N R 20 E Sec 35, Elevation 5000-5400 Quad name: Carson. Quad number: N-61.
