Beside road about 4 miles SE of Mt. Shasta City. Unstocked area (under 5%) of commercial chaparral consisting mainly of Arctostaphylos patula with some scattered Castanopsis sempervirens and Prunus virginiana (=Prunus demissa). Commercial conifers in backround are Ponderosa pine and some Incense cedar and Douglas fir. Soil: 3-4 " depp, rocky from lava origin. Site 125-150. Assoc. sp.: some scattered PP reprod., T 40 N R 4 W Sec 26 Quad name: Dunsmuir. Quad number: 14.
