Description:
small tree, leaves oblong, bi-colored, gray-green above, tomentose gray/white below, possibly introgressed by Q. griesa but strictly limestone substrate regionally, and no Q. grisea observed. Plants at edge of a 1/2 mile long, narrow, steep walled, dry, slot canyon cut in flat lying pale, blocky, limestone strata by a intermittent arroyo tributary of Fresnal Creek, and sheltering a richly diverse flora of the poorly accessible region known as Hell's Half-acre.
