Viburnum ellipticum. Included in the CNPS Inventory of Rare and Endangered Plants on list 2.3 (rare, threatened, or endangered in CA; common elsewhere). David Douglas considered this plant to be common near the mouth of the Columbia River. Botanists ever since has disagreed. Definitely rare in California. Photographed at Regional Parks Botanic Garden located in Tilden Regional Park near Berkeley, CA.
