Description: English: This is a scan of a "green fruit beetle" aka fig-eater beetle (Cotinis mutabilis) from the bottom. It would not holds still while on its back. In color at 600 dpi. It is alive, though inactive. It is late in the summer so it is probably near then end of its life. It was found on cantaloupes bought at a supermarket in Southern California. Date: 15 August 2009.
