Description: English: This is a scan of a herbarium specimen of Halophila ovalis (Hydrocharitaceae), a marine flowering plant native to Lord Howe Island. Collection info is as follows: "Game 69/225. On the sandy floor of the lagoon at North Bay, probably about 18 inches below spring low tide. A few pieces seen exposed at very low tide in another part of North Bay. Lord Howe Island, August 26th 1969". A duplicate is at Kew and is cited in the Flora of Australia Vol. 49 p.405. The species is widespread in the western Pacific and elsewhere in warm regions.
