Sminthurinae sp. (13099265603)
Description:
Description: English: Original description on Flickr: Sminthurinae sp? I've found these springtails quite a lot around Tairua in New Zealand, but they're quite tricky to get a decent photograph of. But I'm stumped about any ID. Their antennae are rather long, with 18/19 annulations, and the whole look and colour is quite unusual and distinctive. They're very slow moving, but don't really stop. But I love their look. It was quite frustrating that the best shots in the end were on a light piece of timber with little contrast. As I haven't seen a hairdresser in a while, I think I might be growing my hair a bit! It's been short for so long that I'm quite enjoying it!. Date: 24 February 2014, 02:25:40.
