Jeniang, Kedah, Malaysia.Asystasia gangetica (L.) T. Anderson subsp. gangetica. Acanthaeae. CN: [Malay - Pengorak, Akar ruas-ruas, Rumput Israel, Rumput bunga putih, Rumput hantu, Rumput nyonya], Chinese violet, Coromandel, Creeping foxglove, Asystasia. Native of the Indian subcontinent; elsewhere naturalized and cultivated. Weed; forage; erosion control; lesser vegetable. Herbaceous soft stemmed, straggling; leaves opposite, often of equal pairs, elliptical, rather variable, base rounded. Inflorescence terminal with small narrow free epals; corolla-tube narrow at base, expanded above, either white, yellow or pale to dark violet; stamens 4, arising in unequal pairs from corolla-tube and arched on the pistil.
