Aramides cajanea


Description:

In this recording a flock of Gray-necked Wood-Rail (Aramides cajanea) forages in the forest near the El Pizote lodge, near Puerto Viejo de Talamanca (Costa Rica), 6/23/99. They were heard every day there, morning and evening. Locals said they are good to eat ("like chicken"). It was unclear how many birds were calling in this sample.
