It was a pleasure to see this large Cicada again in our back yard as I have been hearing them singing. They can be found in Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales. Its song

These cicadas sing in the forest on the hottest of days. Occasionally I will scare one out and it will make a little 'scream' and fly away very noisily. Its quite a bit different to
one I photographed not far from today's cicada.I may not be able to post any photos for a couple of weeks as I will be away.
