MCZBase

The Museum of Comparative Zoology's ten research collections, representing approximately 21 million living and fossil inveterate and vertebrate specimens, are continuously working to capture new and historical specimen records into MCZbase, a database of zoological collections which serves data and images through the EOL portal. To learn more about this effort and to search the database visit MCZbase.


Harvard University Botany Libraries

Ernst Mayr Library of the Museum of Comparative Zoology

These libraries are members of the Biodiversity Heritage Library Consortium (BHL), an effort to digitize literature and make it available through EOL.


Harvard Museum of Natural History Africa Hall Exhibit

The Harvard Museum of Natural History shares content from their Africa Hall exhibit through an EOL Education LifeDesk.


African Amphibians LifeDesk, Dr. Breda Zimkus, EOL Fellow

The goal of this project is to develop an authoritative, community-driven resource for information on African amphibians. This LifeDesk will feeds content directly into the Encyclopedia of Life (EOL) and AmphibiaWeb.


Sipuncula LifeDesk, Dr. Gisele Y. Kawauchi, EOL Fellow

This project would like to make available scientific knowledge to an audience interested in this little-known marine invertebrate offering descriptions, images and links to relevant literature.


Salamanders of China LifeDesk, Yunke Wu

This project will provide detailed information on taxonomy, morphology, geographic distribution and life history of Chinese salamanders along with high-quality images. All content on the Taxon Page is shared with Salamanders of the Old World (http://science.naturalis.nl/salamanders) and will eventually also be shared with the Encyclopedia of Life (EOL) and AmphibiaWeb.


OEB 54: Biology of Fungi

Taught by Anne Pringle and Donald Pfister

Students created species accounts through Mushroom Observer.


OEB 167: Herpetology, Spring 2008 and 2010

Taught by James Hanken and Jonothan Losos

Students created species accounts through AmphibiaWeb(2008) and EOL's Education LifeDesk (2010)


OEB 130: Patterns & Processes in Fish Diversity

Harvard students in OEB 130: Patterns & Processes in Fish Diversity each developed a taxon page to represent the fish species they selected. Professor: George V. Lauder Teaching Fellows (2010): Erin Blevins & Jeanette Lim.
